Cloud Bread Magic: A Gluten-Free Sandwich Experience at MOCMO in Mitaka, Tokyo

Today, I’m excited to introduce a unique sandwich shop that’s gluten-free but doesn’t use rice flour. Nestled halfway between Kichijoji and Mitaka stations, near Inokashira Park and before the Ghibli Museum, lies ‘MOCMO sandwiches.’

The highlight here is their gluten-free ‘Cloud Bread,’ made without wheat and primarily from eggs and cream cheese, offering a texture akin to a light, fluffy castella. The shop boasts an array of sandwiches, from hearty meal options to fruit sandwiches with ample cream.

I chose the MOCMO spice curry and drink set, featuring a boiled egg and a generous helping of keema curry.

This curry, flavorful yet not overpowering, is filled with the richness of vegetables, making it a great choice even for kids.

The place buzzes with families and international visitors.

On sunny days, it’s perfect to take a sandwich to enjoy at Inokashira Park, Inokashira Nature & Culture Park, or near the Ghibli Museum!
